The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) Tobacco Cessation and Prevention Program (TCAP)
The overall goal of the Program is to reduce tobacco-related health disparities among LGBTQ people living in rural and small town areas in Eastern Washington by increasing access to health resources and information for our community.
How will the Program impact our community?
- The Program will help decrease health disparities in the LGBTQ community by making culturally appropriate health care more accessible.
- The Program will increase awareness about tobacco prevention and cessation resources available to the LGBTQ community, with an emphasis on youth and trans issues.
What changes will the Program bring about in our community?
- Our community will have increased access to health and wellness resources from providers who are competent in addressing culturally-specific issues.
- Providers will have increased access to resources to better serve their LGBTQ clients.
- Awareness about the benefits of a tobacco-free lifestyle will increase.
